Meet The Author
Janet Leary is a children’s book author, retired teacher, and early literacy advocate
dedicated to helping children build confidence, joy, and strong reading skills. Inspired by the stories read to her by her mother and grandmother, she developed a lifelong love of language, rhythm, and the power of positive thinking.
She is the author of I Love Myself So I Laugh and Giggle, a playful, rhyming picture book
that nurtures self-love while supporting early reading development. Through her work,
Janet creates engaging, feel-good books that help children celebrate who they are while learning to read.
Janet is also the creator of Early Reading Teacher, a YouTube channel and website that supports parents, teachers, and grandparents with simple, science-based strategies for teaching the five components of reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Her mission is to build a supportive community where adults feel empowered to help
children become confident, happy readers, and where books become meaningful, joyful gifts that chldren love.
